Church Staff

Tyler Beard - Pulpit Minister

Tyler is a full-time Church Staff member with the primary focus of preaching each week. Previously, he was an MBC Ministry Intern where he led the Youth Group, taught adult Sunday School and occasionally preached. During this time Tyler and MBC confirmed God's leading into full-time ministry.

Additionally, Tyler serves as the Curriculum Point Person. MBC's curriculum encompasses a variety of short courses for MBC and the community. He is working with the Elders on expanding MBC's discipleship series. Tyler's love of God's Word is evident in his passion to know it, share it and live it and in inviting others to walk with God.

We like to say that Tyler is a "home-grown product". He and his family have attended MBC since he was 10 years old. He earned Chemical Engineering degree from Texas Tech University and then returned to MBC as an intern.

He is currently engaged in seminary training and teaches at Midland Classical Academy. He is married to Shannon and they have five children attending MBC. His Father, Mother, and brother all attend MBC.

Chris Craig - Worship Minister

Chris is a full-time Church Staff member with the primary role to lead the Sunday Praise Team. He also serves as the Music Ministry Point Person. Chris has a unique ability to bring together a variety of songs, musical arrangements to make Sunday Worship a special time for personal and corporate celebration about our Lord.

Chris attended Tarleton State University, in Stephenville, TX, where he was involved in several music and youth ministries. His wife Jenny also sings with Chris.

Collin Pedersen - Youth Minister

Collin is a full-time Church Staff member with the primary role to teach and disciple students. He is the Youth Point Person and coordinates the numerous "Youth Happenings." Collin uses his real-life experiences of growing up to teach and mentor students in an understanding and credible way. His desire is to help them learn how to walk in grace and truth with Christ and other believers in a hostile world.



Collin is from the Seattle, WA area and earned a Broadcast Journalism degree from Washington State University. After a stint as a news/sports reporter, he moved to the great state of Texas to study the Scriptures and earned a Master’s degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Collin served as a youth minister in Lubbock, TX for 4 ½ years where he met his wife Kristen. Collin and Kristen have a son named Roman.

Mike Loftis - Church Administrator

Mike is a full-time Church Staff member with the primary focus of overseeing the day-to-day goings-on of the church. He also assists Elders, Deacons and other Ministry Groups in helping them to achieve their ministry goals.

Kathleen Utsman - Church Secretary

Kathleen is the full- time Church Staff member secretary.  Her main task is to keep the candy jar full.

Angie Snell - Elders Assistant

Angie is a part-time Church Staff member with the primary focus to assist the Elders. She also serves with our Uganda and other outreach programs, and the Youth Group. If it gets done, Angie probably had a hand in it. She is married to Jon Snell. They have five children attending MBC.

Stevie Jantz - Nursery Administrator

Stevie Jantz is a part-time staff member with the primary goal of loving on the infants & toddlers of MBC!  Her duties also include making sure the safety guidelines & policies are being followed by nursery staff, keeping the nursery stocked with clean, age-appropriate toys and supplies, scheduling exciting activities for infants & toddlers and recruiting energetic & loving people to assist her in providing the BEST possible care for the youngest part of the MBC family.  
 
Stevie graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Psychology and has spent several years involved with serving children throughout various organizations, programs and ministries.  Her favorites include Court Appointed Special Advocate, Child Advocacy Council member, H.O.S.T.S. mentor, and AWANA leader.
 
Stevie and her family moved to Midland in December of 2006, but she will always be an Okie at heart…Boomer Sooner!   She and her husband Scott have three boys (all of which are precious, none of which will go to college at UT or Tech).  Their boys range in age from 9 months to 5 years.

Julie is a part- time Church Staff member assisting the secretary with office tasks.  She and her husband, Bob, have attended MBC for many years.  They are happy parents and grandparents thanks to their two married children.
